Background
Phoenix Academy Limited has been approached by primary school Head Teachers requesting our service. Initially this was rare, but having proven that our Phoenix Academy Clicks Programme works alongside the National Curriculum, personal recommendation amongst schools has grown. This collaboration since 2007, has been school led and has allowed us to work in partnership with pupils, teachers and sometimes parents with impressive results. These Head Teachers have been keen to seek a different approach to raising the standards of their students. In a large number of cases, the Head Teachers have asked us to work with pupils who they have deemed as failing or pupils who could benefit from being fast tracked.
Our Aims and Objectives
- To support schools by enabling all students irrespective of ethnicity, gender or ability to excel beyond their starting point in English and Maths when they join the Phoenix Academy Clicks Programme.
- To raise self-esteem and confidence by giving all students the tools and skill sets needed to engage, enjoy and succeed in their learning irrespective of their ability.
- To enable all students to develop confidence and a willingness to enthusiastically engage in their learning.
- To enable all students to better their performance and achievement in school.
- To encourage and work with parents to be proactive and involved in their children's learning.
- To work in partnership with schools to deliver individualised programmes for students of their choice.
- To offer a professional service that is confidential, non judgmental and encourages excellence for all.
Achievements
We have consistently improved the performance of our students over the years.
Our business is mainly based on recommendation.
Parents consistently report that within a very short period (less than sixteen weeks-equivalent of 24 hours tuition) significant progress is evident in their children's performance in school.
We began working in partnership with schools in Lambeth, in 2007 and as a result of this were recommended by The London Challenge (DCSF) to work in Lewisham in 2008.
Head teachers have witnessed a measurable improvement in pupil confidence and their SAT scores, resulting in roll on contracts to continue to provide our programme for their year 5 and year 6 students.
