Q. Is there a contract period?

A. Yes there is a minimum (compulsory) booking term of 16 weeks in the first instance.
If you continue after this period the Contract remains valid until such time as you give us 4 weeks' notice in writing.
Within this relatively short period you should see evidence of good progress.

Q. How long are the tuition sessions?

A. Each small group session is for 1 ½ hours. One-on-one tuition is for 1 hour per session.


Q. Where are the sessions held?

A. Sessions are held in one of our Centres on a Saturday or after school.


Q. How are fees paid?

A. Fees can be paid weekly, monthly or in full. We accept payment in cash or cheque (with banker's cheque guarantee
card) .


Q. How many children are there in a group?

A. Depending on your Option selection group sizes would be a maximum of 8 students or 10 students. In most cases

but at our discretion we employ assistant tutors to offer further support.


Q. Are your tutors Police checked?

A. Yes. In addition to this, our sessions take place in open plan environments.


Q. Are your tutors qualified teachers?

A. Some are but ALL are trained to deliver the Phoenix Academy Programmes.

In addition to this, a dedicated Programme Manager is assigned responsibility for each student's personalised work

which is checked weekly.


Q. What happens during the session?

A. Dependent on your Option choice, your child will do 1 1/2 hours per week of English and/or Maths.

The tutor will support individually students requiring the help.


Q. What happens if my child cannot attend a session?

A. You can reschedule another session (within one week) at another centre or another time if there is available space. You can come in and collect your child's work assignment during the session time or within the week.

*As our obligation is to reserve and exclusive place for your child, fees must be paid irrespective of attendance.

 
Q. Do you test?

A. An initial assessment is a pre-requisite to the programme. This enables us to personalise your child's work from the start. Your child's work is closely monitored every week.


Q. How do I know how my child is doing?

A. You may call to arrange a time for a telephone review free of charge as and when you need it. If you would like a more formal re-assessment, your child will be given a test, you will be invited for a parent review face to face or by telephone. (This service is charged for)


Q. Do you test?

A. An initial assessment is a pre-requisite to the programme. This enables us to personalise your child's work from the start. In addition to this, we formally test every 8 weeks to ascertain progress and to amend the programme as necessary.


Q. Do I need to provide my child with any books or equipment?

A. We provide all equipment and books, but if your child would like to use their own pencils/pens that would be fine.


Q. Is there a reading scheme?

A. The early stages of the Literacy Programme is also a Reading Programme. In the early stages, we also loan alphabet and keyword cards for daily practice. In addition to this for a small extra cost, parents can enroll on the Reading Programme where we loan reading books and will hear your child read each week.


Q. Do you have an on line learning programme.

A. We are currently building an online programme.
